O Pós-Punk – Inovação na Década de 1980

Siouxsie e Johnny

O período pós-punk iniciou nos anos 80 e marcou a história da música. O movimento punk que surgiu na Inglaterra em meados dos anos 70, deixou muitas influências e serviu de base para muitos dos artistas que vieram depois disso. Nesse período o mundo viu surgir nomes que entrariam para a história da música e que produziriam grandes clássicos. Foi uma época de muita criatividade, onde tinha espaço para vários gêneros, do gótico ao New wave, tudo com muitas referências do punk. Os artistas desse período, além da sonoridade e das letras bem elaboradas, tinham um visual marcante e arrastavam multidões até as casas noturnas no mundo todo, como por exemplo, a famosa “BatCave”.

Dentro desse período (que foi até o fim da década de 80), cabem muitos estilos: Gótico, new wave, new romantics, darkwave entre outros. Todos aparecendo e ganhando características próprias. As ideologias desse período também se distanciavam cada vez mais da temática punk. Se por um lado os artistas do dito movimento “dark” resgatavam a introspecção e o niilismo do punk de uma forma mais romântica, o pop e o new wave vinham com uma “nova onda” alegre e colorida. Claro que seria impossível classificar um artista desse período como pertencendo a este ou àquele estilo, pois muitos deles flertaram com vários movimentos. O que nos proporcionou uma lista imensa e eterna de músicas fantásticas.
